OTHER ADOPTION OPPORTUNITIES

Lucas and Angus

Lucas and Angus are 5 year-old husky-heeler mix brothers whose person died in January. These gorgeous boys are great on leash, great with people, great with other dogs and children, and are adoptable as a bonded pair. They are incredibly sweet, happy, smiley boys. They don’t have much training — they’ve been free range mountain dogs so far in life — but they have been very good on off-leash hikes with volunteers because they are naturally motivated to keep track of the pack, even a pack/person that is brand new to them.

They love snuggling with you as much as they love adventure, and they are generally very mellow boys. They don’t do the howling and screaming that folks expect of huskies. They rarely bark at all. Their only challenging trait is that they’ll escape if they aren’t getting enough exercise and they can climb fences.

A home with acreage would be ideal, but they would also be happy with a home where they get plenty of action and plenty of love, and with a fence that isn’t climb-able. They are athletic, healthy, neutered and current on vaccines.

They are at Happy Little Rescue

Yoda & Artica

From staff:

Yoda and Artica came into our care in January 2025. They are 10 years old and have lived together their whole lives. Their owner died suddenly at the end of 2024, and they were being cared for by a neighbor until getting to us. They are both extremely friendly and approach all people with full body wiggles. They are very good on leash - they wait patiently to be leashed up and don't pull. They are also great in the car. We know that they do not do well with cats, and so far we know that they get along well with most dogs, but show some prey drive towards tiny dogs. We are considering them bonded and are trying to place them in a home together, but are willing to adopt out separately if a good adopter comes along that can only take one. They go on walks both together and separately, and seem fully content going out on walks separately. Yoda has the black nose and Artica has the pink nose.

Here is a writeup from Alan as well, one of the puppuccino trips he took them on:

We are Artica & Yoda, a couple of frisky seniors. When our driver and his co-pilot started telling people that we are bonded, at first I couldn’t understand it because we’ve never been arrested or had to post bond for anything.   Then he explained that it means that we love each other and always want to live together.  English!   Such a confusing language. We digress so let’s get into the review. We headed to Elevation Coffee for a field trip.   Elevation is a nice place with great service!   Although we could not go inside,  we were told that it is warm and inviting. One of the best parts is the outdoor seating.    However, we have to admit that the pup cups were a bit inconvenient because they were large cups but only filled about half way up. We are glass half-full kind of girls but since we can’t use a spoon and our tongues were not long enough to be able to fully extract all that wonderful whipped cream,  it was kind of frustrating.   The chauffeur scooped some out with his finger but no way would we take that not knowing how many door knobs or gas pumps that finger has touched.   You can’t be too careful these days!  We slurped down what we could and enjoyed that.   As well as our drive around town on a beautiful day with the windows down and our heads out the window.   When parked, Yoda tries to get a lot more out the window but fortunately we are tethered to the seat belt.   We are 8yo Husky mixes, we love all humans and most other dogs. We enjoy leash walks and are civilized, no pulling!    As a bonus, we’re pretty good on recall when off-leash.   Cats are another story.   NO CATS!  So, if you’d like to have a pair of cuddly love bugs that are equally happy going for walks or lounging with you on the couch, we are your ladies!
