OTHER ADOPTION OPPORTUNITIES
Jovey
Jovey is a wonderful cattle dog who would make a great companion. She is loyal and super loving. She is an excellent trail dog and very smart. She is about two years old, spayed, and vaccinated. We are looking for a new home for her as she has become protective of our kids and she doesn’t like when people come over to the house when they are home. (Not protective over us as adults) She is gentle and loving and also feels like our 3 and 5 year old are her babies to defend. Our hearts are broken upon realizing that she would be more at ease in a different home without feeling the need to be protective. She is a snuggle bug and an athlete and we will miss her forever. Please contact Meredith at 412-841-5977 or Jake at 719-429-7348 to meet this sweet pup. 34 lbs and lean. Curls up to a miniscule travel size for car trips!
Charlie
Hi! I'm Charlie, a 3-year-old Lab-Husky mix, looking for my forever home. I'm great with kids and other dogs, but not cats. I have undergone extensive training, including specialty one-on-one training for a month. Unfortunately, my strong instincts make it stressful for me to be around cats. I thrived in CB during the summer and hope to find a loving family there. I am leash and crate trained, and I know my commands. My foster family is heartbroken to let me go, but they have exhausted all other options. Please call my foster mom Lauren Gauthreaux at (214) 914-5905 or email her: lgauthreaux710@gmail.com to learn more about me.
Yuki and Shadow
Yuki and Shadow are looking for new homes.
Yuki is the white/brown tabby female. She is spayed and about 5 years old. She is the sweetest little lady. She likes to try snacks like Fritos and Goldfish. She gets along very well with dogs and cats once she gets to know them. My husband says her voice sound like Sheryl Crow singing. She's a little princess.
Shadow is the all black male. He is neutered and almost 7 years old. He is very timid but he is a sweetheart and prefers to be left alone until he comes to you for pets. His cat family helps him come out of his shell so we would love if he and Yuki could stay together. He has a high pitched, kitten voice but rarely uses it. He drinks his water loudly and is displeased when he has to try new food. He reminds us of Toothless from How to Train your Dragon.

Outlaw
Outlaw is the longest resident at High Desert Hounds. He came in when he was approximately 5 months old after getting a call that he had chewed his own leg off to free himself from a coyote trap. After multiple vet visits and watching him attempt to use what was left of the leg he chewed off, surgery to remove the leg at the hip was recommended.
Outlaw gets around just fine on three legs and has become accustomed to it. He is very shy and appreciates having a “zen den” where he can enjoy some solitude from life at the rescue. While he can be fearful, he has never once displayed aggression in any way, shape or form. He is hesitant, or maybe slow is a better word, to trust humans. All with good reason due to the neglect, abuse and trauma he experienced in the most formative stages of his life, but he has an extremely kind soul.
Outlaw has had the cards stacked against him since birth and he deserves a loving human and place to call his forever home. He is approximately one year old and is neutered. He gets along with other dogs and prefers those with lower energy. He would thrive in an environment with someone with patience who understands he will need time and space to adjust and trust. A stay out home parent with an active but easy lifestyle would be Outlaw's dream. Please call

Andy
Andy is a sweet, 10-year-old cat that needs a home. A lover and a fighter, Andy is great a cuddler and mouser, doling out snuggles, while cleaning up the riff raff. A free spirit, he has always been an indoor/outdoor cat and has been living with a dog. He just had his vet check-up and his vaccination certificate is available upon request.
If you are interested in learning more about Andy, reach out to Rachel at (970) 319-4822.

Barb
Meet Barb! This super sweet girl had a rough start at life: she was caught by shelter workers while giving birth in a field. She continued giving birth at the shelter, just to have them separate the puppies from her. We pulled the puppies, and Barb, and reunited them. Her pups have long since been adopted, but poor Barb has been waiting over a year for her forever home.
Barb is extremely loyal and loving to people that she knows. She is hesitant of strangers, until you introduce them properly (treats seal the deal). Once Barb knows you, you’re in her pack for life and she will love you forever. But she definitely doesn’t want strangers coming in the house without permission. She’s protective of her family and home, and we know there’s someone out there who wants a dog to help keep their home safe!
Barb is great with other dogs. She mostly ignores them and lives peacefully in the same space. She loves walks and runs and even bike rides. She is fully house trained and crate and muzzle trained.
Barb is about 7-8 years old and likely a huskey shepherd mix. She weighs about 60 pounds.
Pups Without Borders is based in Los Angeles, California. For our adult and large breed dogs, we are happy to help with transportation to neighboring states.

Daisy
MEET DAISY!
Daisy is looking for her forever home. Daisy was found at a park in Northeast El Paso around July 25 when she joined Luna and I for a bike ride. We are currently fostering her through the shelter. Daisy is between 1-2 years old and is great with kids and other playful doggos! Daisy is crate trained and is SO close to being fully potty trained. We are working on regular commands also in the time being. Highly energetic, she can play for hours on end, but also loves hugs and cuddles. Please contact myself or the shelter if you want more info on Daisy! Her El Paso Animal Services intake number is 56435033.
